AST Core
AST Core identifies a State-Bearing Representation with a strong ETag and requires version-specific If-Match protection for covered mutations. Comparison and commit are one atomic operation across every writer that can change the protected state.
Optional AST Semantic
Where representation validators are too narrow, a server can opt into a separately discovered semantic concurrency domain using the Semantic Validators draft. Ordinary ETag and cache behavior remain intact.
Operational topics
- Capability discovery and method scope.
- Missing, inadequate, and stale preconditions.
- Atomic compare-and-commit across writers.
- Deferred processing and version reservation.
- Conflict handling, retained-base reconciliation, caching, and security.
Reading boundary
Core behavior should be evaluated independently with Semantic Validators disabled before the optional profile is assessed.
This is an individual Internet-Draft, not an RFC or an IETF standard.
